Dealing with Bad Foundations in your Investment Property in Kansas City

I don’t know about you, but when I walk into a potential house to buy, while I do walk in the front door and look at the main living area as I walk in, what I really want to see is the foundation. That is what I always want to check out first because problems there can make or break my investment.

If I see any major issues with a foundation either from the outside or the inside, I am going to want to make sure that I have an inspection clause that allows me time to hire a structural engineer to give me a report of what is wrong and what I need to do to fix it and then time to get my foundation company to give me a bid based on the report.

But as many of us really don’t know what is a minor and what is a major issue, I thought it would be prudent for us to learn a bit about foundations. We need to know what we should be looking for and what it takes to get things fixed, so I sat down the Luke Olson from Olson Foundation on a recent MAREI PartnerCast and I thought it was a perfect training to share here on KCInvest.
